Instead of releasing a second-generation Apple Watch in Spring, Apple may be releasing more models in the $1,000 to $10,000 range. Currently we have the Apple Watch Sport for $350-$400, the stainless steel Apple Watch for $550 to $1100 and then the Apple Watch Edition for $10,000 to $17,000. Apple needs more variety between the stainless steel and the gold watches. Also, the upgrade cycle for the watch may not be a year, it may be two years so Apple might start with a longer amount of time between the two generations.
